The Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) has today announced the appointment of John Temple as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Temple, who had been driving the association’s Life’s Better With A Boat initiative, was engaged to fill the role of interim CEO and following the election of a new BIAV board, he has now been appointed as permanent CEO.
“We are extremely pleased with the appointment of John Temple as BIAV’s Chief Executive,” said BIAV President, Mark Crockford. “With his vast experience and knowledge of the marine industry, we are confident in his ability to assist in leading the association.”
Prior to joining the BIAV, Temple was the general manager for Mercury Marine Australia, New Zealand and Pacific. He has also been involved in several marine organisations including having served as a past board member of BIAV.
“I’m privileged for this opportunity and be able to work with a dedicated staff,” said Temple. “With some challenges, we also have opportunities and we will be working very hard to develop tangible benefits for our members. We have an exciting Melbourne Boat Show coming in June, a solid group of board members and sub-committee members to drive the areas of membership, events, advocacy, education and finance.”
