Lake Eildon, one of Victoria’s largest and most popular inland waterways is telling visitors that it’s ready and rearing to go for the Easter holiday season.
With a shoreline of over 500 kilometres and water levels that surpass that of Sydney Harbour during late Summer/early Spring, there is plenty of water available for boaters, fishers and water sports activities on Lake Eildon. Not to mention the over 27,000ha of rugged hills with open woodlands through dense forest for people to explore.
Highlighting the many assets of Lake Eildon, particularly its large capacity to accommodate water activities, is a video called “Lake Eildon – Victoria’s Favourite Inland Waterway.” Developed by Goulburn Murray Water and supported by the Lake Eildon Houseboat Industry Association (LEHIA), the video illustrates the magnitude of Lake Eildon and just why it’s Victoria’s favourite inland waterway destination.
“We are in a great position here at Lake Eildon in that people can take part in all sorts of activities,” said Mike Dalmau, LEHIA president. “There is so much to enjoy, from houseboating, cruising, water sports and fishing amongst other things. And plenty of water to accommodate it all.
“In addition our tourism industry providers are well experienced, catering to visitors from Victoria and beyond.”
